Obsidian Butterfly and Calla Crafts are teaming up together to offer you a fantastic opportunity. We will be holding regular jewellery making classes, including Silversmithing, Anodised Aluminium Jewellery and childrens classes. In these classes you will learn all the jewellery making techniques. All of the tools and materials will be provided.
We will also accept separate bookings for groups, so why not have an unusual girlie day, or a very memorable hen day! During the classes you will be required to sign a health and safety disclaimer. The Leicestershire Craft Centre 10a High Street Market Harborough LE16 7NJ Silversmithing Evening Class
15th January 2026 23rd April 2026 17th September 2026 7pm - 9pm £172 Our popular silversmithing course runs as an evening course over 5 sessions, so you get even more time to create beautiful jewellery! You will be shown how to work with silver, and get to try a variety of techniques including cutting, etching, filing, soldering and engraving. Complete beginners will start by making a silver pendant. Those who have attended one of our day courses or evening courses before can move on to making rings and earrings. More advanced students can have tuition in stone setting. The course price includes two pieces of silver and unlimited brass and copper. More silver can be purchased from our tutors if required. Silversmithing Day Class
8th February 2026 27th September 2026 6th December 2026 10am - 4pm £98 A fabulous introduction to the art of Silversmithing. This full day course will teach you all the basic techniques of cutting, etching, texturing and soldering and you will design and make your own silver charm or pendant. Our informative tutors will give you loads of information on how to carry on this fascinating hobby. You will be given an inch square piece of silver as well as unlimited brass and copper. More silver can be purchased on the day. If you have attended our silversmithing workshops before, you are welcome to come on this workshop and work on your own projects or learn new skills. Please just let us know in advance if you are a returning student. Spinner Ring Day Class
4th July 2026 £98 A fabulously fun day making a solid silver spinner ring. You’ll make two bands, one to fit your finger and a smaller one to spin around it. It not only looks great, but is a great way to relieve stress and anxiety. No silversmithing experience is necessary. To book please click here 
Stacking Ring Day Class
9th May 2026 £98 A great day where you will learn to make a silver stacking rings set. You will be shown how to saw, file and solder your silver to make rings to the correct size. During the day you will make 3 rings that stack together, one of which can have a simple accent on top such as a heart. To book please click here 
Star Pendant (10+ Family Class)
20th October 2025 10am - 12pm £30 Choose a gorgeous star shaped stone and learn to make a silver setting for it.This is a session for all the family – learning to saw, file and set a stone in silver. Sterling Silver Christmas Earrings (10+ Family Class
20th October 2025 10am - 12pm £30 During this Christmas themed silver work session you will learn to saw, file, hammer texture and hand polish a pair of Christmas-themed earrings. The earrings can be matching or asymmetric and you will get hypoallergenic ear wires so they are ready to wear straight away. They will be cut from a 1″ (2.5cm) square of sterling silver and will be approx 3cm high including ear wires when complete. Choose from 3 mix and match designs.
