Obsidian Butterfly and Calla Crafts are teaming up together to offer you a fantastic opportunity. We will be holding regular jewellery making classes, including Silversmithing, Resin Jewellery, Anodised Aluminium Jewellery and Cold Enamelling. In these classes you will learn all the jewellery making techniques. All of the tools and materials will be provided.
We will also accept separate bookings for groups, so why not have an unusual girlie day, or a very memorable hen day! To see picture of previous classes click here. The Leicestershire Craft Centre 10a High Street Market Harborough LE16 7NJ Silversmithing Evening Class
16th January 2025 - FULL 1st May 2025 18th September 2025 7pm - 9pm £165 Our popular silversmithing course runs as an evening course over 5 sessions, so you get even more time to create beautiful jewellery! You will be shown how to work with silver, and get to try a variety of techniques including cutting, etching, filing, soldering and engraving. Complete beginners will start by making a silver pendant. Those who have attended one of our day courses or evening courses before can move on to making rings and earrings. More advanced students can have tuition in stone setting. The course price includes two pieces of silver and unlimited brass and copper. More silver can be purchased from our tutors if required. To book please click here Silversmithing Day Class 9th February 2025 10am - 4pm £94 A fabulous introduction to the art of Silversmithing. This full day course will teach you all the basic techniques of cutting, etching, texturing and soldering and you will design and make your own silver charm or pendant. Our informative tutors will give you loads of information on how to carry on this fascinating hobby. You will be given an inch square piece of silver as well as unlimited brass and copper. More silver can be purchased on the day. If you have attended our silversmithing workshops before, you are welcome to come on this workshop and work on your own projects or learn new skills. Please just let us know in advance if you are a returning student. All materials and tools are provided on the day – all you need to bring is an idea of a simple pendant design to make – our tutors will guide you through the rest! To book please click here Silversmithing Pendant Taster 30th November 2024 6th April 2025 10am - 1pm £45 A great taster session where you will learn to saw, file and texturize a silver pendant to take home. It’s a great intro to the basics of this captivating and addictive craft! As there is no soldering in this taster session, younger crafters, aged 12+ are welcome. To book please click here Silver Ring Taster 30th November 2024 6th April 2025 2pm - 4pm £40 A fantastic intro to silversmithing. Learn how to make a simple silver ring by cutting, filing, texturizing and soldering your sheet metal. This class is suitable for those aged 16+. To book please click here Children's Silversmithing 21st February 2025 10am - 12pm £26 A fantastic course for older children and teenagers. Learn to saw, file and drill metal and create your own pendants, charms or keyrings to take home. Working with aluminium (looks like silver, but easier to work with for beginners), you’ll design your own simple shapes and follow the process through to a completed piece of jewellery. Please Note: For insurance purposes, this course is only suitable for children aged 10 and over. To book please click here Adjustable Silver Ring Taster 21st February 2025 1.30pm - 3pm £26 A session for all the family – make an adjustable ring, learning to saw, hammer, file and texturize silver.
